How To Find A Good Web Host

How To Find A Good Web Host.
Every website needs a web host. Because without a web host your site won’t be accessible to visitors.

There are many web hosting companies out there to choose from.

But you shouldn’t just go for the first one you see. You want to pick a quality host that you won’t regret signing up for.

Your site needs to be accesible 99.9% of the time if you want to earn money.

Having a site go down too often is bad. Here’s my advice on finding the best host for your website.

Check For Reviews.
When considering a web host for your website. You should check for reviews on forums such as WebMasterBabble If there aren’t any reviews on the host you’re considering you should sign up for the forum and post a thread asking other members if they have experience with the web host you’re considering.

Check How Long The Host Has Been In Business
Even a new host can be a good host. But you should check into how long the host has been in business.

When considering a web host I prefer a host to be in business for at least 1 year.

Check How Long The Domain Is Registered For
You should also run a whois check on the hosts domain to see how long it’s registered for. If I see the domain isn’t registered longer than one year then I move on.

I want to know that the host has plans on staying in business. Domain registration is so cheap “Around $100.00 for 10 years” and a host should be able to afford that amount to secure there domain and show me that they plan to stay in business.

A Web host should at least have the domain registered out as far as 5 years.

Don’t go for the cheapest host out there.
When considering a web host for your site, don’t go for the host that is the cheapest.

The cheapest host might work for a blog that you only blog for the sake of blogging. But if you’re in it to make money, then fork out some money to get a quality hosting plan.

Good Hosting Can be had for $5.00 a month. I spend more than that on coffee.

I would have no problem spending $20.00 a month for a great host if I was making $500.00 a month or more with my website.

Send The Host A Support Ticket
Before Signing Up for a host you should send the host a sales ticket. Ask them questions.

This helps to gauge there response time so you know you won’t be left in the dark if your site were to go down.

Keep in mind though that some hosts don’t respond to sales tickets over the weekends or holidays.

You should get a response to your ticket within an hour or 2. Any longer than that I would move on.

They should at least respond to you letting you know what’s going on.
